The Malaspina Glacier in southwestern Alaska, is the largest Piedmont glacier in the world. It is approx 3900 sq meters in area and up to 600 meters (2000 ft) thick. It is estimated that this glacier has accounted for half of one percent of the global rise in sea level since the 1980s.
