It wasn't so far in the past that the mythical (or was it?) Tatiana's Underground existed nowhere beyond the mind of my occasionally demented muse. It was then that a suspected bolt of dire karma struck near the neighborhood where
my studio is located. I took this as a sign from the deep and forged a series of abstract paintings which I christened "Tatiana's Underground".
This was big fun. It allowed me to ease away from some of the slightly more serious ideas that might have been creeping into my career. At the same time, my work was selling fast, the ideas were fermenting and the good times were rolling!
"Tatiana's Underground" became like a 'nom de plume' and I actually liked it! It was pretentious sounding enough to run with when needed... but, at the
same time, it was improbable enough that it wouldn't be a ticket you could run for president on (in those days).
Anyway, things played out, over a year or so... I didn't plan to draw the curtain on the theme, but the paintings were moving quickly and inevitably I ran out of them completely.
And, as it turned out, I simply couldn't find the time to build up the collection again to relaunch it.
To make a long story short, "Tatiana's Underground" has totally gone underground! But don't despair... hand signed, hand embellished giclee prints of the Tatiana's Underground series are available.
Interested collectors may also request that I do a re-creation of one of these pieces as a new original painting. For more information, please see the Tatiana's Underground Collection page on my website.
