"Hack the Knife" simplifying palette knife painting: my new tutorials now out on video
May 2, 2017
The first two sessions of my new "Hack the Knife" palette knife video tutorials are now live online on my Youtube channel.
I actually released the first video last month and have had a lot of positive feedback so far.
"Hack the Knife" simplifies the art of palette knife painting to encourage more people to believe that they could do it. Who knows, maybe you'll even give it a try!
All the colors except black and white are removed from the first two paintings, to allow you to zone in on the forms and focus on working with the knives. The first video is like an introduction and the second video continues follows through from the first, adding new and more complex forms to the composition.
The third video will continue the landscape forest theme, this time adding a third paint color (or, you could even say a "first" color, depending on your relationship with black and white). I will release the third video in approx one months time, on or about June 1. I also have the fourth video "in the can".
The techniques shown on these videos are some of the same techniques that I use in painting many of the landscape paintings on this website. In the future I am hoping to expand the collection of tutorials to include many of the other aspects of my paintings and other popular compositions and styles.
